Mobiles are the most recent evolution of the phone.Before the phone there was other ways to communicate you could you could send a letter through the post or use a telegram or simply just go other to them and talk.

This is a simple typewriter. This is what they would have used 50 years ago to either send letters or for work.
People used to use them at home and at the work place. It was very hard to use as if you made a mistake
then you would have to take out the paper, tipex the mistake and re-align it perfectly so you wouldn't make another mistake.
